So, I discovered this artist that uses lines in an interesting way. On the work Paul Lorenz uses lines, I think his mix of wash paint and line makes for a great combination. A real feeling of contrast between the flow of fluid and the intentional line that feels random. Paul has shown is Paducah, Kentucky which is still a magnet for artists, although the program they had to get artists to move there seems to have ran its course. Well, anyways, Lorenz website is here. I am still debating on the works without lines. It seems the paintings with lines are much stronger in content and composition. It is that added layer that bring just the right amount of visual information to keep you guess the artist's intent.
