What is the Nobel of visual art?

Praemium Imperiale award is given every year in September. This is an international prize given to Painters, Sculptures, Architures, Music, and Film/Theater. Wiki has a nice link of past winners and this is their main website. I found it interesting looking up some of the artists they picked. Local prizes often hold important steps in an artist's career. Take the Turner Prize in England; usually pretty much crap in their finalists, but important to artists in the area. Texas has the Hunting Prize which has its own mixed history with Texas critics sometimes scratching their heads on the winners.
