This is a shot from Jeremy Newton's MFA show. I got to see a version of his show at the Waco Art Center at MCC. Really the show was about obsessive behavior. The pink panel in the bottom left in this photo shows his work that is eraser shavings. Newton uses pins and stick piled in cubes, hanging center piece, cone, and other objects. What I like about the show is that the work is a recording repetitive motions and a series of obsessive/compulsive acts. Much like the action painters of the past/present, but the recorded motion creates a more sophisticated product. With this body of work, I am sure he will go far.
