Few towns have more than one contemporary art center, but Dallas is luck enough to have two. The is the Dallas Contemporary is one, but there is also The McKinney Avenue Contemporary. The MAC has a strong focus on the local talent and plays an important role as a cultural art center. The Kitchen Dog Theater is attached to the center along with two very large gallery spaces and one project room. The space has featured some really great retrospective shows along with bring in artists from around the world to help feed the local artists with outside influences. The member show has been growing to beyond near capacity of the space and that is with a 24 by 24 inch limit. I join to get a complimentary art catalog and to be a part of a center that believes in build up the vibrant local art scene.
