Jeff Yerger

Aeroscape, 2007
acrylic, graphite and latex on canvas

Teal, 2006
oil on canvas

At the University of Texas at Dallas, the digital art revolution is exploding onto the scene. One artist that started with digital print mixed with paint is Jeff Yerger. Yerger current work seems to still hints at digital source, but the image does seem to push into a realm of the more random than analytical approach. There is more depth in the new work as well. I think that just in a year, Yerger made a good jump from a flat abstract to a landscape like abstract. Also the image is more complex in the uses of materials. The jesters seem to be made with more confidence that the 2006 piece.
